The hotel formerly known as Grand Swiss-Belhotel Waterfront Seef now has a new name and a new chapter. Aqua Vista Bahrain opened its doors on 28 August, marking the property’s shift from a global chain name to an independent operation along the Seef shoreline, sitting between Reef Island and Water Garden City.
The rebrand kicked off with a pool party rather than a quiet ribbon-cutting, and four introductory stay packages are now open for booking, covering everything from staycationing residents to guests settling in for extended work trips.
The hotel is now run independently under Alwajeha AlBahrya Co. WLL, a white-label arrangement that’s meant to be temporary. Management has said the plan is to eventually fold the property into a larger international boutique hotel brand, though no timeline has been confirmed publicly.
General manager Alper Kucukbaycan framed the change as an opportunity, saying the move gives the team room to refine the guest experience before the next stage of the hotel’s development. For now, guests can expect the same waterfront setting and sea-view dining the property has built its reputation on, under a new name.
Aqua Vista marked its debut with the Grand Opening Pool Party on Friday 28 August, run in partnership with Playlist Entertainment and headlined by DJ Khainz. The event ran through the afternoon into the evening at the hotel’s pool deck, with drinks and food available at Seabank Pool Bar.
All four packages are available for stays within 90 days of the 28 August opening.

Aqua Vista Bahrain’s current setup is an interim one. The hotel is operating independently while its owners work towards bringing it under a global boutique hotel brand, a process that involves staff training and updates to the property alongside the day-to-day running of the hotel. For now, it’s open, booking, and running as Seef’s newest independent five-star stay.
