Apple unveiled three new iPhones, and they’re the most colorful yet

We thought we had it good with the rose gold iPhone, but the latest batch of iPhones is so colorful and cute we’re having deja vu to our old candy-colored iPod minis. Unlike our OG iPods, however, the price for these new iPhones—like all things Apple—is steep.

Apple announced the launch of three new phones today: the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. The iPhone XR starts at $749 and is considered the “budget” option; it’s basically what the iPhone 8 was to the iPhone X last year. The XS starts at $999 while the XS Max starts at $1,099. If you want a 512 GB XS Max, it’ll set you back a cool $1,449.

Despite these price tags, the XR is still cheaper than last year’s iPhone X, which started at $999. The XR is also the only phone that comes in an array of colors. Unlike the icy cool silvers and gold of previous launches, the new XR comes in blue, coral, yellow, white, black, and red. The XS and XS Max are both available in the standard gold, silver, and space gray finishes.

The latest crop of iPhones have the largest screens ever from Apple plus an edge-to-edge display. The XS Max is the largest, clocking in at 6.5 inches.

You can preorder the iPhone XS and XS Max beginning this Friday, September 14th, with the phones going on sale next Friday, September 21st. iPhone XR preorders begin next month on October 19th, and the phone goes on sale October 26th. You can find more information on Apple’s website.
