What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of Bahrain, and why?

Pearl – When I think of Bahrain, the first word that comes to mind is “Pearl.” This symbolizes its rich history in pearl diving, the beauty of its culture, and the preciousness of its traditions.

In your opinion, what does the future of Bahrain look like 10 years from now?

In 10 years, I envision Bahrain as an innovative hub in the Gulf, embracing technology and sustainability while preserving its unique heritage. It will be a blend of tradition and modernity.

If you could safeguard one aspect of Bahrain’s culture or heritage for future generations. what would it be?

I would safeguard Bahrain’s traditional crafts, like weaving and pottery. These art forms connect us to our ancestors and tell the story of our identity, which deserves to be cherished.

Can you share a cherished memory that perfectly captures your love for Bahrain?

A cherished memory is the family gatherings during Eid, filled with laughter, delicious food, and the warmth of togetherness. It perfectly captures my love for the community spirit that is a symbol of Bahrain.

Do you have a favourite spot in Bahrain? What makes it so special to you?

My favourite spot on the island is the Bahrain National Museum. It’s special to me because Bahrain National Museum is the biggest public museum in the country that houses various artefacts that reflect the rich history of Bahrain. It offers an enriching experience to all the history and culture buffs out there. The beachfront location and the marvellous architecture of the museum are sufficient enough to enchant anyone visiting the museum. The entire museum has been divided into 6 main sections, featuring six halls and housing artefacts dating back to 4000 years ago.

Is there a Bahraini tradition or custom you wish the world could experience? Why do you think it’s so unique?

I wish the world could experience the Bahraini tradition of Majlis, where people come together to share stories, tea, and laughter. It’s unique for its warmth and sense of community, fostering deep connections.
