Active coronavirus cases in Bahrain now at 16,372

Out of 17767 COVID-19 tests carried out on 16 May 2021, 1884 new cases have been detected in Bahrain.

Of these, 597 were expatriate workers, 1268 were contacts of active cases, and 19 were travel related.

Five Bahrainis (three women, 91, 45 and 47; two men, 68, and 73)  as well as four expatriate men (33, 39, 40, and 86) died yesterday, taking the death toll to 746. No information was provided if they suffered any preexisting medical conditions.

There were 1324 recoveries, increasing total to 183859.

There are currently 183 cases in a critical condition, and 327 cases receiving treatment. 16189 are stable out of a total of 16372 active cases.
