Actions Speak Louder than Words

Bahrain Confidential explores the mind of street artist ‘Huvil’

What inspires you as an artist?

The traditional part of my country, it is so beautiful and I feel that I fully immerse myself in my culture. There’s a great sense of pride.

Where did your passion of street art evolve from?

I always wanted to produce art on a large scale, much more than an A4 piece of paper. It all started from my bedroom when I used a pencil to sketch on the wall.

Facebook or Instagram?

Instagram – a picture can speak a thousand words.

What is your advice to anyone wanting to pursue street art?

If you want to start always start with an idea, don’t think of street art as the way of income at the beginning of your journey. Always try to be unique at your individual style … make it a way of delivering a message to the people whilst also displaying its positivity

What is your motivation to get up on a morning?

To produce better art and come up with new ideas that evolves my artistic outlook.

Which part of Bahrain is your favourite place? Why?

I enjoy Block 338 in Adliya as it’s a place filled with a variety of events whilst also being a great place to socialise. ν
