With hopes high and stomachs empty, we arrived at Ramada Manama City Centre’s international restaurant, Patio, to sample their new offerings… and we were not disappointed! If you are a lover of Italian food, then you better clear your calendars because this February, Patio will be launching a menu featuring authentic Italian cuisine with a modern twist.
Upon setting foot in the restaurant, we felt an inviting contemporary atmosphere, heightened by floor-to-ceiling windows that left us admiring the scene. Patio offers an elevated fine dining approach to eating out with great sea views and cool ambiance. Our eyes were already satisfied and we haven’t even sampled the culinary delights yet!
Italian cuisine is about freshness and simplicity – the menu ranges from light first bites, like carpaccio and caprice to elegant mains, such as pollo a la cacciatora, ossobuco, risotto and pasta. The food was wonderfully decadent, beginning with the freshest carpaccio with extra virgin olive oil and shaved pecorino cheese; the caprice was also simply delicious. Guests can enjoy four delicious menus, ranging from BD7 to BD12 net. For a great price of BD7 you can already create your own pasta with their chef; we tried pesto and we weren’t disappointed!
Served as a first course or primo like Italians do, the pesto pasta was as satisfying as a main. The vibrant and creamy basil pesto sauce was really delightful and was even more mouthwatering with parmesan cheese. The rotini pasta was a perfect al dente, as it was cooked to order like their pizzas. The food serving was great and was very reasonable with the price of BD7 net with carpaccio and tiramisu. Onto the margherita pizza – the tomato sauce was excellent! It was tangy and sweet and you can detect the fresh tomatoes; the pizza had an equal ratio to the cheese as well.
We honestly don’t know how we still managed to have room for dessert but we didn’t miss the classic tiramisu and panna cotta with mixed berries. The tiramisu was light and creamy, but packed with flavor thanks to the espresso and the layer of cocoa on top; what isn’t there to love? Each visit at Patio will definitely be an homage to lovingly crafted food.
