Bahrain Confidential experiences an exotic adventure at Rainforest Lounge, Gulf Suites Hotel.
With the island’s lack of foliage and greenery, Rainforest Lounge is designed to offer a tropical oasis and a much needed break from the hustle bustle of city life. Amongst the streets of Amwaj is probably the last place you would expect a jungle filled with animal décor, delicious dishes… and a waterfall!
Part adventure and part restaurant – Rainforest Lounge boasts its tropical design, themed menu and exciting promotions. Living up to its name, the lounge provides a lush environment and a much-needed contrast from the wide selection of themed bars and lounges in Bahrain. The lounge is composed of an indoor seating area where you can enjoy live music from a five-piece Latin Soul Band, and DJ Sonia. An exclusive non-smoking area is also available, where bigger groups can experience a quieter time or a lovely meal.
Serving an assortment of international seafood, beef and chicken dishes, Rainforest Lounge also boasts impressive ribs, pastas and pizzas. The menu is really extensive with a huge range of starters, main courses and refreshments that will satisfy all tastes. During the night, we had the ‘Lava Stone Grilled Tiger Prawns with Asparagus Risotto’, ‘Buffalo Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dip’ and our favourite, ‘Herb-Crusted New Zealand Lamb Racks’. The lamb was perfectly cooked, complemented by the beetroot mash – we didn’t know that these two elements would create a delicious infusion!
What we really liked about the Rainforest Lounge is that their drinks scream ‘tropical paradise’! All the concoctions were made by their in-house mixologist and served in creative cups. We had the ‘Mongoose Mai Tai’ which is an infusion of coconut rum, dark rum, crème de almond liqeur, orange and pineapple juices. We also tried the ‘Panama Punch’, ‘June Bug’ and the ‘Green Python’ which is a combination of ‘citrus vodka, melon liqeur, coconut rum, bananas liqeur, and sweet & sour pineapple juice.
Live entertainment at the Rainforest Lounge is available every night from 8pm to 2am. To those who would like to take the stage, a Karaoke Night is available every Saturday from 8pm onwards. Tuesdays and Saturdays are for Ladies with free drinks for all ladies from 7pm to 11pm. Men can enjoy with a Lions Night every Monday with a free beer from 7pm to 11pm. Happy Hours are available everyday from 4pm to 8pm with 25% discount on beverages. Other exciting promotions for ladies, men, airline crew and the military can also be enjoyed.
