Shaikh Nasser quits Slovenia championship due to muscle strain injury

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), withdrew from the Championship Triathlon which was held in Samorin, Slovakia after suffering from a muscle strain. The event witnessed the participation of a group of elite athletes as well as a lineup of strong teams specialised in the triathlon sport. HH Shaikh Nasser picked up the muscle injury as HH was at the last stage of the event; the running race.
HH Shaikh Nasser gave his all to complete the race but had eventually to retire from the race as the injury got worse. HH Shaikh Nasser was listed among the professional athletes in this race, and this was the first time for HH to compete against such participants. The event composed of three competitions, including a swimming race, a cycling contest and a running contest. HH Shaikh Nasser completed the 1.9km-swimming race in 0:30:51.5 fraction of seconds and HH finished the 90km-cycling event in 2:15:48km before embarking on the 21.1km-running competition, where HH pulled out because of the injury.
