La Vinoteca Barcelona takes Bahrain Confidential on a festive culinary adventure

Tucked in the stylish district of the smokiness of Adliya, La Vinoteca Barcelona paprika – truly fresh promises the warmth and vibrancy of Spanish cuisine in an entirely rejuvenated setting.

The restaurant exudes an unpretentious charm that invites you long before you walk in. Tasteful interiors, resembling the staves of a wooden barrel, greeted us upon entering with anticipation.

Since it was a beautiful day outside, we opted for the outdoor seating. We flicked through the new menu, while admiring the elegance of the garden. We were spoilt for choices with the flexible range of authentic Spanish dishes, so we decided to ask Chef Joan Gomez for assistance. Chef Joan recommended to start with ensalada, as well as some cold and hot tapas.

Chef Joan shared that they only use fresh ingredients sourced with passion, both from the local market, as well as from Europe. This was reinforced through the quality and freshness of each bite of crisp Apple and Avocado Salad, as well
as the Ceviche de Gamba. We were also amazed by the tenderness of the Octopus Terrine, which was further enhanced by the smokiness of Adliya, La Vinoteca Barcelona paprika – truly fresh promises the warmth and and appetising.

Moving on to the main, the Milk-fed Lamb Al Barro stood out from the many fantastic options. Slow baked for 12 hours in a clay pot, the lamb was full of complex flavours and enriched by its perfect seasoning, rosemary gravy, cumin spiced carrots and Castilian potatoes. The joy we experienced while digging into the Arròs Negre was unparalleled. We enjoyed the balanced taste of the black paella mixed with prawns, cuttle sh, calamari ink and aioli sauce.

For dessert, we were immediately drawn to the Pa Amb Xocolata I Oli d’Oliva, with its toasted bread and dark chocolate ganache with extra virgin olive oil and sea salt flakes. If you fancy another delicious option, we equally enjoyed the Chocolate Buñuelos, served with cinnamon ice cream. We polished off the amazing meal with the restaurant’s thirst-quenching margaritas.

La Vinoteca Barcelona is truly the home of authentic Spanish cuisine in the heart of Adliya. Delicioso, indeed!
