Instagram stories is about to get a whole lot more personal. Today Instagram announced Close Friends, a new feature where you can share stories just to a specific group of people. So, now, if you take a super cute selfie with your new bae, but you’re not ready to show off the relationship to the world, post it to your “Close Friends” Story so the pic doesn’t go to waste.
Creating the list is super simple. Just go to your profile and click “Close Friends” on the side menu. Then, simply search and add people to the list (and remove them when you grow apart). Don’t worry, the list is private so only you can see it, so you don’t have to worry about someone being offended if they didn’t make your Close Friends list.
When you’re taking a pic, click the green star in the bottom left corner to add it to your Close Friends story. If you’re on someone’s list, you’ll see when they’ve posted to their Close Friends story because there will be a green outline around there photo on the Stories bar, instead of the normal pink one.
So cool, right?! Bring on the inside jokes and personal moments! Stories just got a lot more fun.
